Dividends

The companies available to the Trust in the investment universe have good and well-managed businesses. Their balance sheets are strong and in normal economic conditions they grow their profits and dividends over time. An investment trust is a public limited company and it is the Board that announces the interim, final and any special dividends.

Dividends on the Ordinary Shares are normally paid half-yearly during August and March in respect of each financial year.

Dividend Policy

The Trust’s policy is to distribute a significant proportion of its net revenue (after payment of expenses and taxation) in the form of dividends paid to Ordinary Shareholders. As an investment trust, the Trust must not retain, in respect of any accounting period, an amount which is greater than 15% of its income for such accounting period. Ordinary Shareholders are entitled to receive all such dividends.

Zero Dividend Preference Shareholders are not entitled to receive dividend payments.

Reinvestment Plan

The Trust operates a Dividend Reinvestment Plan (DRIP) which is available to all Shareholders.

The DRIP’s Terms and Conditions are available on request by calling the MUFG Corporate Markets Shareholder Helpline on 0371 664 0300* (or if overseas on +44 (0) 371 664 0300), by emailing MUFG Corporate Markets using shareholderenquiries@cm.mpms.mufg.com, or from the Share Portal at www.signalshares.com.

* Calls to this number cost 12p per minute, plus any network extras. Lines are open from 09:00 to 17:30, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.

Dividend Mandate

To ensure that dividends are received as quickly as possible, the Company’s Registrar, MUFG Corporate Markets, may be instructed to pay them directly into a bank account; tax vouchers are then mailed to shareholders separately. A Dividend Mandate Form for completion is available in the ‘Documents’ section of this website. Alternatively, if you have already registered on the Share Portal with the Registrar you can login to record your bank account details. You can also telephone the Registrar Helpline on 0371 664 0300 and select the option to change your personal information.
